ED; My thoughts are if you can not find the proper axle buy a set that are to speck but too long,
have the machine shop turn down the shaft,
cut it to length,
turn down a collar id just smaller than od of axle turned,
heat the collar to open id of collar and press fit,
weld collar to axle on both ends,
heat stress welded areas.
To me this seams acceptable and less expensive, you still have bolt flange and splines. What do others think?....Ray
