If you're going to sand blast them I'd want them primed too. If they're just blasted then I'm going to have to re-blast or treat them to get rid of the flash rust that almost inevitably will form.

As for incompatibility of primer, if you're using any decent 2-part epoxy it should be a non-issue for top coating. That stuff is pretty impervious once it's fully cured, but I can see how it would be hard to know without knowing you if the prep was done right or not to know if that primer coat is going to stick. Anyone buying it will have to re-prime anyway, just a question of if they need to just scuff sand or go to bare metal again.

Kind of like a rebuilt motor, or even a rebuilt truck, unless you're known for doing it all that work is of minimal value to someone else who doesn't know if you did it right, or just slapped it together poorly without some sort of proof.
