I installed some short battery cables (not jumper cables)from a 12V battery directly to the starter. The rest of the system runs off 6V. The starter ran strong and the engine fired right up for the first time after rebuild. I ran it about 10 min and the temp went to 180 and the oil pressure is between 45-50. I was a little worried about that since I did not regrind the crank, just replaced the bearings with the same size that was there. I had 2 oil leaks, one at the after market oil gauge and the other at the top lid of the oil filter canister. The gasket that came with the Baldwin filter is too small of diameter. Need to locate the correct gasket. I have the canister with the T bar on top. Overall, happy success!
