What is the serial number of your truck and engine? I have a '55 with 83947680 and T137-87242.
I went through this awhile back and never did definitively answer the question. At the time I was trying to find the correct upper hose. (see archives link below).
Personally, I believe you and I have the correct thermostat housing on our T137 engines.
