It would be a lot easier to mount a winch behind the cab. PTO, electric, or hydraulic would work fine. The problem with using the front winch is the transfer of load bearing to the frame. Like Kevin said, cabs suffer. And the suggestions Chris made would work, but you really need to consider the amount of weight you are going to lift, and make sure the load is transferred adequately. There are lots of PWs with bent or broken frames, as well as with dented cabs, due to improperly rigged lift devices.
