Dodge didn't start putting a lot of drawings i to the books until about 1947. I've heard this was because the military paid for a lot of the work during WWII and Dodge used them in the civilian books. The only WDX book that would have shown the early window setup only has three drawings total in the body section and two are overalls of the truck.

I checked the 2wd books and all I could find were a couple images in a service manual that show portions of the early channel and regulator.

This lack of images may have contributed to a lack of understanding of the changes that occurred in 1946.
