One is to ventilate, to prevent explosion.

The other is to keep the just off the paint.

Not needing to paint a carryall all at once, I use pvc pipe stuck together temporarily to make whatever size I need to suit the components I'm painting- or sand blasting. I leave one side open for painting.

And use a woodworker's cyclonic dust collector for the exhaust fan. The cyclone seems to work so well for the overspray that the final filter on the out put only has talc like sand, no paint. Fan size for spray booths is based on the cubic feet of the booth, to prevent explosion. Small booth means small fan OK.

I made the dust collector too, using a formula off the net. Final filter is an intake filter for an earth mover sized diesel. Bigger fan would be nice, but it works well enough.
