Never had any experience with one. I had a Perkins 4-108 which I think is probably similar. 4BT's sound like tough engines. I guess it's already proven it's put together right.
I don't run engines more than about 80 percent for any length of time. I guess that comes from my time flying airplanes. I prefer to be conservative. Easing up a little usually doesn't cost much speed and significantly adds to the life of an engine and decreases fuel consumption.
