Just came back for Vietnam. I visited the pond where the B-52 wreckage landed and visited the "Hanoi Hilton" prison and saw John McCain's flight suit. Very moving.
Funny story: When Hilton Hotels finally decided to put a hotel in Hanoi, they couldn't name it the Hanoi Hilton, obviously. The call it the, "Hilton Hanoi Opera".
I met some very nice people in Vietnam. The young girls are especially nice people. I know the history, but what did we accomplish over there except causing a bunch of misery on both sides?
For those of you who served in Vietnam, I'm glad you made it back.
Your dad served in WWI and II. Wow. He really was a lifer. That's got to be an amazing story. I hope it is at least summarized somewhere for your future generations.
