I have a NP200 with centered output on my WC53. I replaced the single speed transfer case that is standard on the truck with the NP200. The noise is not bad at all compared to my 51 ffPW with it's standard offset driven rear axle and the NP200 configuration. I do not need any hearing protection in the WC while I do in the ffPW. My WC53 will travel at 60 to 70 MPH all day and the noise is not bad at all nor do I seem to have any drive train vibrations or excessive noise. It does have some tire and exhaust noise at speed especially if I have the Michelin XLs on the truck. The Michelin ZXLs are much better.

I seem to get more noise out of the transmission, which is a SM420, than the transfer case. The SM420 seems to have a rattle in 3rd gear at a specific RPM. I may swap in a almost new spare SM420 I have to see if that helps.

I also have a fairly sharp drive line angle on the shortened jack shaft as I lowered the transfer case 2" to make clearance between the ebrake drum and the floor which is not cut like the PW for the brake drum. I suspect that his causes some noise and wear on the transmission output and transfer case input bearings. I need to install rear disk brakes with ebrakes so that I can put the transfer case in the correct position.
