I am going to use a Weapons Carrier rear on my Power Wagon project which allows me to use the center output of the NP200 transfer case. I am told that this will be noticeably quieter at speed and perhaps create less tcase wear than running on the offset rear output.

In discussing this with Bob Stahl he suggested that the NP200 will still be pretty noisy and suggested using an NP205 which only has the center output and is a lot quieter than the NP200 in any configuration.

(neither is quiet compared to say an NP271 on account of 6 gears always spinning as opposed to a chain that is not spinning most of the time on a modern 271; but I am building an iron and steel PW, not an F350 haha)

Anyway, I wonder if anyone on this list has experience with both NP200s and NP205s and can venture an opinion.

An added advantage of the NP 205 is that it has a PTO port which will allow for a greater range of winch speeds than a transmission mounted PTO.

Thanks for any opinions or ideas.

Dave
