Prices depend on your area but with the Emerald ash bore killing of all the ash trees you can pick up wood everywhere around here. The main thing I've found that if you don't like to put in a little effort/work, don't do it.
Another thing people loose sight of is that if your house was an energy hog before wood it will be the same energy hog after. I use on average 13 cord a year after 10 years of using this stove. It is NOT as efficeint as the newer models but it's fine with me. We have our own woods and turn down a lot of jobs/opportunities to get more. Just don't have enough indoor storage.
A guy at work Dad does part time at a golf course. They had 20 - 25 dump truck loads of CUT wood they wanted to give away and had a hard time finding takers. I know for a fact there will be Thousands of cords rot up with all the ash trees going at once.
