You can drive the pins back towards the flywheel just enough to lift the housing off if you don't want to pull the flywheel. Then to put it back, you drive them right out and put them back in the block, put the housing back on, bolt it finger tight, drive the pins enough to locate, tighten bolts fully and reset pins.
