What's strange to me is that you've got such nervous cops in Sandpoint compared to what we have in Wallace. It's not like Sandpoint is the South Bronx, you know.
Maybe it really is their "training" but there sure seem to be a lot more scared cops these days than their used to be. I tried to talk to one on the street in Everett once to tell him somebody had broken into my garage and all he could do was back away and stammer that I should call 911. It was like he was an old lady and I was a mugger or something. If this is now they're trained -- to "neutralize the threat" and that every member of the public could be a "threat", it's no wonder some of them are so trigger-happy.
