No. They are too large for the side rails on my flat bed. I am looking for something a little smaller, maybe like these:

I realize these are probably more of a cab roof light, but I have seen some bed clearance lights that are similar.
The rails on my bed are about 4" wide, so a recessed light would have to be no more than 2 or 2 1/2". A bracketed light would work under the rail, although it's true that they have the problem of getting hit.
