Ok, I took some advice from here and decided to try and shim the box. It worked. The box is now mounted and the shaft is centered. I used one 1/8th grade 8 and one 1/16th stainless washer on each front bolt.

Now, does anyone see a problem with the cant of the output shaft for the pitman arm?

I can turn the steering shaft with my fingers from lock to lock without any problem. However, the bearing in the top of the dust tube is shot and very gritty. Anyone know if there is a replacement for this?
