I used to. I used for 20 years in a old Dodge Truck. I was afraid of it at first but after tearing it down to see how it worked I was fine with it. The Engineers who built these must have known what they were doing with gas.
For super fast heat in cold areas they are great. I wish I still had mine. Speaking of safety, think about the old Coleman stoves and lanterns with the pump up pressure system, they run off of white gasoline.
For me like anything else they are as safe as the operator.
