Dave, I would advise against a longer wheelbase. When I did my 6x6 I did not lengthen the frame. Instead I flattened out the back end of the frame and moved the axle set back 15 inches. Ultimately lengthening the wheelbase. It added a lot of weight to the front axle and made the steering very heavy. It took quit a bit of effort to get the front springs right. It also made for a very harsh ride as the springs would bounce off the snubbers until I got the springs correct. The problem was once the springs were stiff enough to prevent bottoming out they were to hard. Those Chrysler engineers knew what they were doing when they determined the wheelbase. Stock is a very good balance front to back. Take it as you will just my two cents.
