I'd be more worried about your hearing. Use ear plugs! I've run mine on 150 mile long trips no problem. One of those what the hell trips. A load of firewood for an uncle 150 miles away. Man, you're gonna get bored on that trip. 2500 rpm is 42 mph with 5.83 gears. This is the accepted max sustainable buzz for the flatties. Pack lunch and dinner. They're happier at 2,100-2,200 ish, and the fan noise isn't so obtrusive. Turn the cell phone off, you won't hear it ring.
