Tire question

This concerns tires for a Jeep, but since I also own a '67 W300 I thought maybe you guys wouldn't mind.

I have a 1960 CJ5. Previous owner put 15" white spoke wheels on it with some wide all-terain type tires. I never really liked them and have wanted to replace them with original-type 16" rims and some type of mud/snow tire, but buying new is expensive. Last week at a military vehicle show I purchased four 16" rims in great shape, with two excellent mud/snow tires and two junk tires - all for $100. That's a great deal just for the rims alone. Now I'm trying to find two tires to match the good ones. Side of the tires say "B.F. Goodrich, TRACTION PLUS, 7.50-16, M/S, Tube-type, Load Range D, 8 P. R." I have no idea how old they are, probably out of production. I went to a couple of B. F. Goodrich dealers and they have no listing. On the B.F. Goodrich web site I found something similar called "Trac Edge", but they are radials. I don't know if the tires I have are radials or not. I know you are not supposed to mix radials with non-radials.

1) What does the "8 P. R. mean on the tires
I have? Does the "R" stand for Radial?

2) The local tire dealers don't want to give me the time of day to look for something. Anyone know of any good tire outfits who might have something similar to these tires?

3) What does "Load Range D" refer to?

Thanks...
Dave
