We need good guys to run for local office. Not many people who are good at anything and have a life are willing to bother. I got shanghaied into running for mayor one place once and I'll just say it was interesting and expensive. I hope you'll give it a go again sometime, though. You'd be a good county commissioner.
They really should make all those offices non-partisan because maintaining the roads and bridges isn't a partisan issue and the county commissioners don't have to decide anything about abortion, gun control, and gay marriage. They just have to run a tight budget and keep the roads graded and plowed. And fight off the feds more and more these days.
