Looking for Drivability

So, after reading all of your posts and considering the reasons behind my 4BT swap, I've come to the conclusion that I don't really need to spend that money.

What I'm really seeking is drivability. I looked over some older posts, and am considering an overdrive unit. Before I go headlong into that, I stumbled across Wilcap, and they have adapter plate kits for Chevy transmissions. Has anyone used this kit, or swapped a modern trans onto their flathead?
