I was leaning toward the slant six as a nod to the flathead six this truck should have, but opinions about the low distributor location getting washed by off road splashing, as well as the length of the block gave me pause. Then the slant six I was looking at was no longer available.

I like the idea of diesel engine, but living in California, it seems like diesel is now at a premium price. I intend to make this a nearly daily driver.
