I walk out to drive my FFPW the other day. It was obvious that the left rear was sagging badly. Bummer a totally flat tire. I managed to change it out in 15 min with little real effort. I checked it out expecting to find a nail. Not so, the only thing I saw was that the flap was cracked and bowed out into the valve stem slot. I put a little air in the tire and it was leaking through the slot. I tied to separate the combat rim but ended up taking it to a shop. We found that the flap was cracked all the way through and the tub had a hole right on the edge on the valve stem reinforcement. It looks like the flap failed and the tube popped. So a new tube and flap have been ordered for about $60.
I will need to touch up the paint on the inner flange as rust is starting to come back after 15+ years.
