First, you need to go to this forums archives, search on Cummins, 4BT, 4BTA, NV-4500, GM NV-4500. All will give nights of reading and costs involved. To do it right, budget 10K, and thats if you can do everything in your shop. Lots of fab work involved.

Once you have gone to the archives and spent time learning whats involved, we can then do a phone call and discuss details.

But the first question is why a Diesel ? More power, a nice fresh 318 will give all the power you want. Economy, you can buy a lot of gas for a gas engine for the 10K you will spend on a diesel. Long life, a fresh 318 will out live you.
