Clutch Adjustment

I need to adjust the clutch on my '49 civilian. The manual that I have says to "adjust the stop screw so that the pedal (when in the released position)has 1/2 inch clearance with the bottom of the floor plate". There's no diagram and I'm not sure what they mean by the "bottom of the floor plate". Where do I take this measurement?
