The Timkens were good for the bottom as far as strength goes, they would have been good enough for the tops too. But back then the bronze was cheaper. Nowadays, rollers are cheaper due to mass production. So use the stronger rollers type.
Or a potential happy medium, shim the old bronze one for re-use. :^)
