I have no experience with either OD, but I've done a lot of research on both and I'll give you my impressions, for what that's worth.

I prefer the Ranger over the Dennan for several reasons. I think overall the Ranger is a stronger unit, and is much more versatile on and off-road. It can be used in 4wd, where the Dennan cannot. The Ranger can be used in low range, where the Dennan cannot. I would trust that the Ranger would survive heavy loads behind almost any V-8 engine, where I would not be so sure with the Dennan. Parts are readily available for the Ranger, and not so much for the Dennan now that they are out of production. The Dennan is easier to install, and the Ranger needs some modifications ($$) to make it work with a Dodge engine and transmission, but the Ranger is plug and play with a Chevy or Ford engine/tranny. The new Rangers have a lever to engage/disengage the unit, but the older Rangers had an electric shift option that I really like, and pop up once in a while. The Dennan will instantly self destruct if run in reverse, where the Range will not.

In short, the Dennan is for use only in on-road/highway conditions under light to moderate loads, where the Ranger can be used in any on or off-road situation under any load conditions. It all depends on what you are looking for.
