Hey Bob,

I bought a 6ft piece of square tubing to fit inside the hoist extension. I cut it in half (roughly) and butt welded it 90 degrees. Added two 1/8th inch gussets. Then two pieces at the end to allow the 2x6 board to pass between them. I capped the top so they wouldn't spread apart. I made them long enough so that the 2x6 could rotate. Drilled a hole in the middle of the uprights so I could bolt the 2x6 in place. I inserted the assembly into the end of the hoist, drilled a hole into the end of the hoist tube though the extension. I tapped the hole for a 3/8ths bolt to hold it in place.

I can get some exact measurements for you if you're interested. It was kind of an eye ball thing. It looked good and works. You just have to experiment to find the balance point of the cab (fore and aft) when you place the board, it's easy, you'll know right away if it's balanced when you pick it up. If not, set it back down and adjust.

It allows you to adjust the length also by extending the hoist's arm if needed.

As you can see in the pics, we were able to lift the cab plenty high, with a lot of room to go.
