Did you run the adjusters all the way out? I worked on an old chevy grain truck once that I was able to unbolt the backer plate and pulled the whole drum and hub together so I could set the whole thing in a tub of diesel to get the rust broken up, then reached inside with a short pry bar to loosen up the cylinder just enough to slide the drum off...can remember specifics though, it was almost 20 years ago and I probably broke a bunch of stuff in the process...Might be able to take the bolts out of the wheel cylinder and jiggle it enough to get a touch of slack?
