I run mine to about 70 and have only had 1 blow. it is good to remove the head every 15 to 25 thousand miles (depends on type of driving) and clean all the carbon off the head, pistons and valves. the engine will last at least twice as long or more if you keep it clean inside. This was standard practice in the days when flatheads were in most vehicles and before WW2 when fuel was horrible they did it even more frequently and had to do it on the overhead valve stuff too the fuel was so bad. 70 octane....
