As long as you are not doing anything for hire with the truck you are ok. I think Kaegi is right about GVW and GCWR of the truck/plate. I would like to research this more on your 16000 tag. I do know some of the old antique bull dozer guys are getting hassled this last 2 years. One guy at our show had a newer 3rd gen Dodge dually with a very heavy/healthy gooseneck flat bed with an old Dozer on it at one of our shows. He was well over the 26000lb mark with the setup. I don't think he was unsafe but well over his regular drivers license weight. The ATHS is trying to get all this worked out with the states and antique semi trucks. Theres all kinds of differences between RV and Commercial and Antique plates. Problem is if that jerk wad cop that pulled you over wants to be a dick about things you are going to have a bad week and a half doing the court deal and trying to get your truck and trailer out of impound. That's where you should try and have all your paper work in order if they pull you over.
