According to the drawing someone had posted here the notch is original. It does fit the lip on the side of the frame and is angled to match the cab. Mine were too far gone to tell.
The overall thickness isn't as much as stock though due to the dimensions of the source material, I had done one set to stock specs by laminating two pieces, but the glue just created another question mark. Plus the urethane I picked by hardness so the thickness of the block was also partially to compensate.
The stuff is firm but not hard, I'd have to dig to see what the durometer on it was though.
