Carryall? Not sure it is do-able. IIRC, it used the 1/4" 'tire sidewall' all over. And 1/2 bolts into 9/16" holes in the frame.
They sure could use something, the two I've owned were cracked like the chips in the bottom of the bag. And noisy. I'm not sure whether the frame was supposed to keep the body stiff, or the body was supposed to keep the frame stiff. :^)
Would drilling the holes in the frame out to 1" be doable without weakening the frame? Maybe weld a heavy washer on top too? Then use the bushings to make body an inch off the frame? More height = more flex, needed over that much length. Is there room inside the frame for a 2 1/4" diameter bushing? How many? 10? Quantity discount? ;^)
