I tee'd into a drain pipe using an all-rubber tee with screw clamps on each connection. I rented a pipe cutter for the iron pipe. It had a chain with cutting discs on it. You put it around the pipe and tightened until the pipe just popped apart. Took me about 5 minutes to make each cut.
