The good news is new axles are not terribly expensive.

Just about anybody who has parted out one of these trucks has an axle or two lying around.

The bad news is they are heavy and you will have to service the entire axle and replace seals, bushings, hoses, tie rod ends and bearings as necessary. This will be the time to address those bushings in the spring hangers if they need replacing.

It's a seemingly never ending job to bring one of these trucks back from the dead. And, don't forget, the rear axle will need some attention too :)
