I just ordered a used copy of the Jim Horner Automotive Electrical Wiring book from textbookrush.com. It was under $7 shipped. Hopefully it's not too beat up.
I was thinking about using dedicated ground wires... I just remember years ago some electrical stuff working intermittently on my dad's '48 B-1-B. Poor ground issues.
