5 tons sounds about right...I had some stumps dug that were too heavy for the 3 ton front loader on the Case backhoe to lift. The operator could only roll it around. Then I spend a few quality hours with a pressure washer, got most of the dirt off, cut off the longer roots and was finally able to pick it up with the front bucket by chaining the stump into the bucket and rolling it back. Then it went into the bonfire pit behind the shop and became the center piece for a few months of fires...
What type of equipment did you use to dig and load the stump?
