Yep, much can be done to remedy the faults of the old FFPW. Unfortunately, you can't remedy all of them. It's still a 70 year old design.
Dan Mininger does nice work. But, most of us are either unwilling or unable to pay for that kind of truck. To suggest that someone who has little to no knowledge of Power Wagons will be able to build a similar truck is unrealistic. The odds are much greater that such an attempt will end up as an uncompleted project on Ebay.
