Trust me, Every other guy who acquires a ffpw has dreams of make making their truck a highway capable, daily driver. After a few weeks reality sets in and you conclude that without major work, time and money your classic truck is not meant to compete with interstate traffic. Remember, your 40+ year old truck was built when highway speed limits were likely less than 55 mph. besides the gearing, the steering gear, brakes, etc. are old and not designed for modern speeds. Yes you can modify your truck, cram in a V8, change the 3rd member, add disk brakes, and so forth but IMO you might as well buy a new truck. It may be cheaper and more dependable. Bottom line, you have a beautiful truck, a classic in fact. Why not accept it for waht it is and enjoy it.
