Your last statement describes the situation.
Steel lines from the tank up to the mechanical fuel pump (new). Short rubber hose, 3-4" long from steel to the pump. Nothing coming thru to the pump. Pickup tube at the tank is clear and steel lines have been blown out.
Time to look for leaks.
