Gary, The truck was scheduled to be transported open (not enclosed trailer), but Autos on The Go took my deposit, never returned it, and never moved the truck. Thankfully my bank covered that fraudulent move. Then I contracted with another company on Uship. They transported the "non running, no brakes, etc." vehicle 2,128 miles from Berwyn, Alberta to Saukville, Wisconsin - in an enclosed trailer. Berwyn is so remote that even after weeks of searching no one would make that trip. Today, you can do a Google search on 1952 Fargo Powerwagon and you will see the many people trying to get quotes off of Uship. No one would touch it. There were broker fees, transport fees, certification stamps for the title application, etc. that all added up to $5K. The actual shipping was about $4300 if I recall. The remainder of fees added up to $5000. Yep, high I know but it was my reality after nearly six weeks of looking for a transporter. Keep in mind that I had already bought the truck - with what I thought was secured shipping but that Mirel guy at Autos on the Go ripped me off. Then I was getting desperate so went for bid and a wonderful transport company took care of getting the truck to my house. I will tell all in the article. I really do think this Powerwagon story is an exceptional one...even for the guys that have been doing this for years. I really need to get an article published in the Powerwagon Advertiser...I agree. Please don't think I had money to burn..I didn't and still don't. My Powerwagon search was 6 months in duration before I switched to the Fargo version search. I passed on non-running, rusted frames, missing beds, CA trucks that seemed so far, Denver trucks, restored trucks, etc. I will tell the whole story some day. My PowerPoint presentation on the story is 100 pages long so far.
