Arthur's got it right.
All military 4x4 and 6x6 Dodge WC's used either the "Heavy Duty" VRY 6 volt or VRH 12 volt Voltage Regulators depending on if they were radio equipped models or not. Rdaio equipped used a 12 volt, all others used the 6 volt regulator. The ID plate on the regulator was painted red if 6 volt, green if 12 volt. These are very sought after if doing a complete original restoration. Willy's/Ford Jeeps, Studebaker, and most other maufacturers of military 4x4 and 6x6 trucks used the same regulators. Chev. amd GMC used a "Heavy Duty" Delco-Remy designed regulator. Similar in apperance and I have been told both brands could be interchanged providing you used the same voltage and and the same circuit type.
