My definition of serious highway driving is maintaining the speed limit or slightly above for extended periods while not punishing the engine.
Around here, the freeways are posted at 70. Most traffic travels about five to ten miles per hour faster than that. Next door in Nevada and Arizona, the highest speed limit is 75.
Maybe, you can get away with going 60-65, but you have significantly increased your chances of coming into conflict with other vehicle.
