Thanks, Dan. I bought this one from Randy Baker. I had a perfectly good MU2 winch on the truck already, but I have always admired and wanted a capstan model. Why? Like the mountain climber said when asked why he wanted to climb a certain mountain.....Because it's there!!!
The best part is that my son was in No Cal for a couple of weeks working and he picked it up and hauled it home for me, saving a freight bill.
I sent the dimensions of the capstan to John Eickhof, as he wanted to try to reproduce one for his winch. Do you want to try?
If I could find a small foundry nearby that would cast them, I would do it, if there were enough who wanted one and wanted to pay what they cost.
