The 6BT is too long for the engine compartment of WDX-WM300 style PWs or the 1957-60 W100-W500 PWs. The 6BT will fit in a 1961-1971 W100-W500 pickup style PW (it is too long for a Town Wagon style truck), but you will need to do a lot more work to get the engine mounts and other details to work.

A 1972 or newer truck used much the same frame as the 1990-93 diesel trucks so a 1997 6BT would most likely just need done earlier brackets to bolt right into a 1973 W200 for example.

If you like the earlier bodies you should sell your 6BT and buy a 4BT or plan to do a lot of fab work.
