m37 hardtop question

i bought a hardtop for my truck and it has like a 2 inch rain gutter on the 2 sides and the front. it is screwed on but looks origanal. im going to take it off on the sides . the front looks like it may be part of the mounting ( not sure ). anybody ever seen this.
