I dragged it out of a field in NE and then Ron did the bodywork on it as well as the engine swap (the original had gotten water in it when it sat). I rebuilt the brakes using synthetic fluid and fixed other little things like wrong knobs and such. It was a daily driver until I sold it. That high orange cab sure was eary to spot in a parking lot!

It should have had a semi floating axle, but someone replaced the original semi floater with a full floater years before I bought it. I've had a couple of 1957-58 W100s that had been swapped to full floating rears. It is a common upgrade. In fact in late 1958 Dodge made the change to a full floating rear in the W100 so I guess they knew it was too weak within a year of the 1957 W100s hitting the road.

It's a nice truck and I was sorry to see it go. I'm glad it's still being enjoyed. I'm sure the whoever buys it will have a lot of fun with it.

Eric
