The most important thing (other than truck condition) is whether you want to make the trip and whether you have someone fun to go with.
Be careful about relying on statements of condition. Maybe, not even complete the sale until you've looked it over. You are going out there anyway.
Figure everything costing twice as much and you will leave yourself a little room.
Have a backup plan and sign up for the Automobile Clubs's premier membership. Automobile Club should cover hauling a W300 some distance if you breakdown, but I would double check.
Does the air conditioning work? A W300 without air conditioning may not be the best way to travel in the Summer.
