Well, at Doc Langford's suggestion I contacted Dennis Gronan about 18 months ago to see if he had any more over drive units. Two months ago Dennis sent me what I think may have been one of his last kits.

The kit includes the overdrive unit that fits between the NP200 transfer case and the rear axle. If you use your truck for serious off roading this might not be for you.

Anyway, the kit arrived and the first step is to shorten the drive shaft. For anyone in the Mid Atlantic Area B+B Auto Parts is about 15 minutes from my house and they have a man who does drive shafts! $65.00 later I had my shortened drive shaft and was ready to put things in. If you go to B+B ask for Buck. (they also turned two of my drums for $25.00)

Dennis sends all the brackets and mounting hardware you need. I spent a half a day installing my unit.

Anyway, for the most part my trucks "sweet spot" was about 30-35 mph. I've had it faster, but frankly it gets REAL noisy at higher speeds. With the over drive, I can easily cruise at 45-50 MPH and the engine and drive train noise is way less. These units are 22% overdrive.

The picture below is what things look like installed.
